8th EDCTP Forum in Lusaka, Zambia

From the 6th to the 9th November 2016, CLIMVIB representatives took part in the Eighth EDCTP (European & Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership) Forum in Lusaka, Zambia.

The theme of the Forum was “Defeating poverty-related and neglected diseases in Africa: harnessing research for evidence-informed policies”, developed through a selection of workshops, collaborative sessions, scientific symposia, as well as satellite meetings.

The aim of the Forum was to carry the discussion on the future of the neglected diseases which are prominent in Africa (Tuberculosis, HIV and Malaria among others) forward and, in addition to that, to provide a chance to reflect on the ethics related to the development of clinical trials.

The forum has provided a unique opportunity for networking and sharing experiences in the field of neglected infectious diseases.

Thank you to the organizing committee and to all participants for making the Forum a real success!
