Announcement CBRN CoE Project 46
CLIMVIB is happy to announce that it has been awarded the contract for the EU CBRN CoE Project 46 “Enhancement of CBRN capacities of South East Asia in addressing CBRN risk mitigation concerning CBRN first response, biosafety and biosecurity, awareness raising and legal framework”.
The purpose of this project is to enhance CBRN capacities of South East Asia in addressing CBRN risk mitigation through the implementation of three specific components:
- Capacity building on crisis management for CBRN first responders;
- Capacity building in biosafety and biosecurity, including bio-risk and waste management;
- Awareness raising concerning CBRN risk mitigation and technical support to strengthen legal framework.
The project will be jointly implemented by a consortium of three partners: Fundación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (FIIAPP), which is the consortium leader, L. Sacco University Hospital and Fondazione per la Ricerca sulla Migrazione e Integrazione delle Tecnologie (FORMIT).
Sacco University Hospital action will focus on Component 2 “Capacity building in biosafety and biosecurity, including bio-risk and waste management”. This component develops into Work Package 3, 4 and 5 which include a relevant number of training activities to the benefit of different selected countries. WP3 will focus on “Coordination, analysis, and training course development on biosafety, biosecurity and bio-risk management”, while WP4 works on the “Assessment of existing capabilities relevant to biosafety, biosecurity and bio-risk management” and WP5 will focus on “Risk assessment, transport and management of hazardous biological waste”.
