Manila, Philippines

On March 19-20 2015, CLIMVIB had the pleasure to participate to the Project Kick-off Meeting of EU CBRN CoE Project 46 “Enhancement of CBRN capacities of South-East Asia in addressing CBRN risk mitigation concerning CBRN first response, biosafety and biosecurity, awareness raising and legal framework”. The project is funded by EU Commission (DG DEVCO) with the support of UNICRI and it is jointly implemented by Fundación Internacional y para Iberoamérica de Administración y Políticas Públicas (FIIAPP), a Spanish Governmental Organisation together with implementing partners FORMIT, an Italian non-profit organisation specialising in Security, Technology and innovation, and CLIMVIB – L. Sacco University Hospital. The meeting on 8th September was attended by national experts on CBRN issues from countries within the South-East Asia Region, as well as by experts from a number of European organisations. Mr. Nigel Tottie, Project Team Leader for FIIAPP, stated that “this project presents a fantastic opportunity for our European experts to work with colleagues from across the South-East Asia region to enhance the region’s capabilities to plan for, and respond to CBRN incidents, manage biological hazards and raise awareness of many of the issues associated with CBRN materials. I look forward to a very successful three years.”

Thanks to all participants for their outstanding contribution to the success of the meeting!
