EU CBRN – CoE Project 46 – WP4 Final Workshop in Vientiane and WP5 Final Workshop in Hanoi
We are pleased to announce that the series of WP5 National Training Workshops held in South-East Asia has ended. The Workshops, which took place in the framework of Work Package 5 “Risk assessment, transport and management of hazardous biological waste” of the EU CBRN – CoE Project 46, involved several countries of the region, namely Brunei, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Viet Nam, Philippines and Cambodia. Each National Training Workshop saw the participation of around 30 attendees and was a unique opportunity to go deep into the field of biological waste management and discuss possible plans and improvements for South-East Asia countries.
Two additional Workshops will now follow in order to close WP4 and WP5 activities and discuss the results of their activities. First, the WP5 Final Workshop will be held on June 25th – 26th in Hanoi, Viet Nam, with the aim of presenting the outcome of the assessment performed in WP5 and discuss with attendees the lesson-learned during WP5 training and possible next steps. Then, the WP4 Final Workshop will take place in Vientiane, Lao PDR, on June 28th – 29th, in order to show the assessment performed under WP4 as well and discuss the enhancement of capabilities in bio-risk management in South-East Asia. In addition, the Final Workshops in Hanoi and Vientiane will represent an occasion to bring together delegates from each country Ministry of Health, Ministry of Environment and National Focal Point, thus guaranteeing an enriching and useful debate on bio-risk and biowaste management. The countries involved are Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Philippines and Viet Nam.
We want to thank all the participants of all the National Training Workshops for their active involvement and we look forward to the Final Workshops.
