We are pleased to announce that the WP5 National Training Workshop on Biowaste Management of Cambodia is starting today, 11th of June 2018. The Workshop has been formally opened by H.E. Lt. General Ke Da, National Focal Point of Cambodia, and Mr. George Edgar, Ambassador of the Delegation of the European Union in Cambodia.
The Workshop is part of the “EU CBRN CoE Project 46”, which involves several countries in South-East Asia, including Cambodia. The project has as its objective the improvement of South-East Asia countries capacity to address CBRN risk mitigation. The National Training Workshop of Cambodia is implemented under the Work Package 5 “Risk assessment, transport and management of hazardous biological waste”.
The purpose of the Workshop is to enhance the skills and the expertise of the participants in the field of biowaste management, with a particular focus on the biowaste handling, transport and disposal. To ensure the involvement of professionals in charge of each stage of the process, the Workshop will be attended by workers from laboratories and hospitals, along with stakeholders responsible for biowaste handling and disposal.
During the Workshop, the two trainers, Dr. Philippe Stroot and Prof Philippe Le Coustumer, will give lectures and organize practical exercises and group discussions. Participants will have the opportunity to discuss the various aspects of biowaste management and raise their awareness on the importance of following good practices and procedures.
We thank all the participants for attending this important Workshop and we make our best wishes to all of them for these training days.
