EU CBRN CoE Project 46- WP5 National Training Workshop in Lao People’s Democratic Republic
We are pleased to announce that today, Monday 7th May, the second appointment with the National Traning Workshop on Biological Waste Management started at Hotel Mercure Vientiane, Vientiane, Lao People’s Democratic Republic.
The training session has been formally kicked-off by Mr. Chittaphong Ackhavong, Deputy Director General of the Department of Planning Cooperation, Ministry of Science and Technology, Lao PDR and Mr. Francois Pravongviengkham, Political Advisor from the EU Delegation to Lao PDR.
The workshop, included in Project 46 Work Package 5 “Risk assessment, transport and management of hazardous biological waste”, involves 30 participants from several organizations. In addition to lectures delivered by our project experts, it foresees group discussions, practical exercises and a visit to a local landfill.
Considering that biological waste management represents a very complex process, the training session aims at discussing the main needs of several stakeholders with respect to the different role and responsibilities covered by them during waste generation, segregation, packaging, but also waste collection and transport.
We would like to express our thankfulness to the National Focal Point of Lao PDR and his entire team for the important assistance given to the realization of the event, as well as to all the attendees for taking part to this workshop. The workshop will last four days and it will end with the delivery of Certificate of attendance for all the participants.
