EU CBRN CoE Project 46- WP5 National Training Workshop in the Philippines – THANK YOU!
The WP5 National Training Workshop on Biowaste Management in Quezon City, Philippines, has just ended.
The Workshop, which lasted from the 5th to the 8th of June 2018, was a unique opportunity for all the participants to deepen their knowledge on the topic of biowaste management procedures and best practices, thus acquiring new skills and expertise in the field. The participants were national professionals involved at different stages in the biowaste management process, from laboratory and hospital staff to stakeholders in charge of biowaste disposal. In addition, some of the participants were members of national authorities responsible for guidelines and regulations.
The lectures and practical exercises were hold by two experts, Dr. Philippe Stroot and Prof Philippe Le Coustumer, who have years of experience in the field of biosafety, biosecurity, biorisk and biowaste management. Additionally, participants had the chance to visit a landfill in the Philippines, in order to have a better understanding of the entire process.
The National Training Workshop on Biowaste Management is part of the wider project “EU CBRN CoE Project 46”, which involves six South-East Asia countries in order to enhance their capacity to address CBRN risk mitigation.
We express our gratitude to all the attendees for participating to this event and we thank the National Focal Point and his staff for their good cooperation.
We are looking forward to collaborating with you again!
