Project 46 DET Training Course Part II – Thank You!

As previously announced on our website, the second of two training courses on Design, Construction and Management of Containment Laboratory was conducted from March 20th to 24th in Ha Noi, Viet Nam.

This last part of the Training Course is set in the framework of Component 2 – Work Package 3 “Coordination, analysis, and training course development on biosafety, biosecurity and bio-risk management” of the EU CBRN CoE Project 46 “Enhancement of CBRN capacities of South East Asia in addressing CBRN risk mitigation concerning CBRN first response, biosafety and biosecurity, awareness raising and legal framework”.

The event focused on an in-depth, practical overview on the design, construction, operation and the maintenance of microbiological laboratory facilities, following the first part of the Training Course, held in February in Metro Manila, Philippines and it involved 33 delegates from South-East Asian countries (Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Viet Nam) who form a Design Expert Team that will conclude its training through a final workshop in Brunei Darussalam in November 2017.
The Workshop was hosted at the National Institute of Hygiene And Epidemiology in Hanoi, Viet Nam.

We wish to thank our hosts, trainers, project partners and donors for the continued support and engagement in this initiative. A special thank you goes out to our BET members whose proactive participation and on-going interest in the event was key to the success of the workshop and we wish them the best of luck for their future careers.
