Ebsa was founded in June 1996 as a not-for-profit organization, so as to provide a forum for its members to discuss biosafety and biosecurity issues. Ebsa has grown quickly in both membership numbers and in the range of activities it is involved in. In order to inform its membership, and allow it to influence Ebsa’s activities, Ebsa council has since 2009 laid out its objectives and priorities within multi-year strategic plans that direct its activities.

The European Biosafety Association (EBSA) establishes and communicates best biosafety and biosecurity practices amongst its members and encourages dialogue and discussions on developing issues. EBSA represents and defends the collective interests of its members in all areas relating to biosafety and biosecurity. EBSA influences and supports emerging legislation and standards, with the objective of ensuring the prevention of harm to man or the environment from biological substances or materials.

The 18th Annual Meeting of the European Biosafety Association: “Orchestrating a (bio)safe world” will be held from 23th will run concurrently on Tuesday, 21 April 2015 and Wednesday, 22 April 2015, the days prior to the AnnualConference.

They are intended as training, and offer participants regulatory and/or scientific background, but also plenty of opportunity for practical learning through interaction with experts in the field and networking with colleagues.
