EU CBRN CoE Project 46- WP5 National Training Workshop in Myanmar-THANK YOU!

The Project 46 Work Package 5 National Training workshop on Biological Waste Management was held from May 22nd to May 25th at Hotel Mandalay, Mandalay, Myanmar.

The event saw the participation of 30 national professionals involved on a daily basis in biological waste management. The workshop aims at increasing trainees knowledge on the topic, raising awareness and stimulating an open discussion. The training session has been delivered by our project experts Dr. Philippe Stroot and Prof. Philippe le Coustumer, with the important collaboration of Dr. Khin Mar Mya, Member of the Biorisk Expert Team of Myanmar.

The interaction between the trainees, encouraged during the four days of workshop, proved to be successful and represented an important occasion for them to look into the different aspects of biowaste management, such as biowaste segregation, treatment and disposal, considering the importance of their specific roles in the process.

The training schedule included a visit to the landfill in Mandalay in order to take a closer look to the functioning of the facility and especially to the several phases of hazardous waste disposal.

We would like to thank all the participants for taking an active part in this workshop, as well as the National Focal Point and his entire staff for their significant contribution to the implementation of the event.

We look forward to meeting you again!
