EU CBRN CoE Project 46 – WP5 National Training Workshop in the Philippines
We are glad to announce that today, 5th of June 2018, the WP5 National Training Workshop on Biowaste Management of the Philippines has officially started.
The Workshop will involve different groups of participants who are involved in the different stages of biowaste management, from laboratory and hospital staff to workers responsible for waste disposal. In order to provide a wider perspective, representatives of national authorities in charge of the relevant regulation will also attend the Workshop, thus contributing to the discussions and sharing their information and expertise.
Participants will deepen their knowledge on the operations and procedures of biowaste management and raise their awareness on the importance of following the good practices and guidelines. Thanks to the expertise of the two trainers, Dr. Philippe Stroot and Prof. Philippe Le Coustumer, the participants will gain skills and knowledge on the biowaste management process, primarily through lectures and practical exercises. In addition, the Workshop foresees a visit to a landfill in the Philippines, in order to provide the attendees with a clearer view of the required procedures.
The National Training Workshop is part of the Work Package 5 “Risk assessment, transport and management of hazardous biological waste”, implemented under “EU CBRN Centre of Excellence Project 46”, which has the purpose of enhancing the capacities of South-East Asia to address CRBN risk mitigation.
We wish all participants good luck and good work for these intense days!
